That main screw section is what keeps the entire inner assembly in place. by completely unscrewing it, you can remove the innards to clean them better. It's also used to adjust the forward/backwar play in the trigger. Another thing about cleaning is it's best to keep a syphon jar of clean water to run through the airbrush, particularly right after you're finished with a given color and between colors, as well as before soaking. When soaking, disassemble it completely.

congarts on the airbrush u dont need to dismantle it after every paint leave a jar filled with iso alc and just spary it ,it will clean the airbrush when i started airbrushing i was so carefull like u are ,but this maching is built to last , the only thing u need ot take care of is the needle , a toilet paper soaked in iso alc or acetone , will make a better clean then puting it in the bowl, be carfe ull not to bend the tip of the needle (or buy an extra one just in case ) a bent neele can f^&k some project really bad . i will also recomend buying making a smaller paint jar so i can drop some drop of paint for some touch ups, the side feed airbrushes has those small paint thingys for small amount of paints , when i use my buttom feed one i just plug it in and pump some iso alc or acetone( when u r working with enamels) it cleans the airbrush in secs.

Part 3, just an update vid. bellyboy congarts on the airbrush u dont need to dismantle it after every paint leave a jar filled with iso alc and just spary it ,it will clean the airbrush when i started airbrushing i was so carefull like u are ,but this maching is built to last , the only thing u need ot take care of is the needle , a toilet paper soaked in iso alc or acetone , will make a better clean then puting it in the bowl, be carfe ull not to bend the tip of the needle (or buy an extra one just in case ) a bent neele can f^&k some project really bad . i will also recomend buying making a smaller paint jar so i can drop some drop of paint for some touch ups, the side feed airbrushes has those small paint thingys for small amount of paints , when i use my buttom feed one i just plug it in and pump some iso alc or acetone( when u r working with enamels) it cleans the airbrush in secs. I normally, only shoot one color at a time. I paint during my Daughters morning nap. So just in-case I can't get back to it. I break it all down & let it soak. I'm trying to find a airbrush supplier locally so I can pick up a side feed adapter. If not I'll just wait til I need to order so more stuff. But I do want to get one.

nice progress love the shades u choose i'll share another tip i love using masking fluid - i used this brand http://www.rebelart.com.au/shopexd.asp?id=2693 its realy easy to apply it and its really easy to strip it of . this fluid is basicaly liquid rubber dispensed in amonia - dont breath this stuff:) u can apply it with an old brush (dont use a good new one - it will ruin it ) let it sit and dry (10 min ) and then u can spray on on it , i find it realy usefull in round shapes and masking of small details. after the stuff is dry and u sprayed what u wanted it comes of really smooth with an ereaser . i'll throw an example on this part i wanted to spray the scales in chrome , so fisrt i painted the scales in glossy enamal black, then sprayed it with alclad2 chrome (which is an amazing thing). after the chrome was set , i masked each scale with the masking fluid and painted the whole tail/shield with the red wine paint . another trick from my sleeve , hope it will help ya

A Dude at Ethereal Realmz (Damien, the MthaFcknMan), my local styrene sheet and paint supplier flat out GAVE me a MISB Humbrol Airbrush kit last week. Needless to say, eFFin' stoked! I haven't hooked it up to my little compressor yet but i'll probably use it to prime a project i hope to finish this weekend. I'll be following your learnings and trying to learn with you NP. i'm glad i found this thread! thanks for posting it
