Here is a piece of two-dimensional art that I am currently working on for Payton34 for his MASTERPIECE (yes, I said MASTERPIECE) Fortress Maximus.
This is the first silhouette run for Payton34's commission. At this point, I'm just trying to get a feel for the big guy. Which one do you like the most?
Payton and I discussed some options and what we liked and what we didn't like, and we decided to run with pose 8 from the silhouettes. Here is a rough look at a warm up sketch I did. This was mostly done to get a feel for how the pose, weight, and attitude should look and how to get them to work well together.
Befitting the sheer size of Fortress Maximus, the box art I have been commissioned to illustrate is by far the largest undertaking I have ever experienced. To properly portray him, I taped two 11"x17" bristol boards together to begin work on this commission.
This behemoth is a little too large to scan, so I took a picture of it.
And that's Ultimate Bumblebee on the left, there. Just for scale purposes. :)
PEACE
